Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Black Hills (CCCS/BH) was established as a non-profit agency in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1974 to help people in our community and the surrounding area overcome their financial obstacles, achieve their financial goals, and improve the quality of their lives. We have provided immediate debt relief to consumers for more than 30 years.

We are committed to educating the consumer about money and credit issues and have been in the forefront in establishing a national standardized credit education program.

We are the recipient of five national awards and six regional awards.

We have Certified Consumer Credit Counselors who work with you in developing a personalized Financial Action Plan that results in positive and lasting solutions that help you regain financial stability. If you choose our Debt Management Program (DMP), our staff will contact your creditors, negotiate lower monthly payments, and reduced or waived finance charges, and consolidate your bills into one easy monthly payment. All appointments are confidential whether in person or by phone.

We offer three national financial literacy programs: Credit When Credit is Due, Money in Motion, CheckWise and Make Your Move…A Guide to Home Ownership. Our programs are offered over the Internet and in classrooms.
